Well, I don’t think it’s a good idea to charge the public for using our school’s library. For one thing, I don’t feel comfortable letting someone not associated with the university come to our library. I mean, other facilities on campus may be OK, but library is supposed to be a quiet place for students to study, yet the presence of local people can be a distraction. Plus, students often find it difficult to reserve a seat or some reference books in library, especially during the final weeks, and letting the public in would only make things worse. Moreover, why charging them for using our library? I’m sure the school doesn’t expect to make money out of this, so what’s the point? Besides, there’re public libraries, book stores in our city, as well as countless websites. People have plenty of sources to search for information.
