I think specific courses should be taught to college students since compared with general courses, they seem more relevant to our daily life and therefore, students are more likely to find such courses useful. Courses like teaching or engineering usually equip us with practical knowledge and skills, students would learn how to keep learners’ attention in class, or something concerning car repair and maintenance. Although they may not become a teacher or mechanic in the future, these skills could still come in handy at some point in their life. In contrast, general courses seem to have less connection with our everyday life, and it ofen takes a while before students know how to put what they've learned into practice. As a result, they usually have less motivation to learn.
