2020年12月5日托福独立口语范文:When you have a disagreement with friends, do you prefer to talk it out face-to-face, or send an e-mail or a text message to solve it?
答案示例
I prefer to reconcile conflicts with friends in a face-to-face manner because it could avoid misunderstandings between us. I can sense their tones and read their facial expressions, like, if they really mean what they’re saying or they’re just being sarcastic; and these non-verbal languages often reveal their true emotions, which may not be that obvious if we discuss through an e-mail or messages. In contrast, communicating through written words may lead to further argument since the way we interpret others’ messages are largely dependent on our texting habit, such as the use of punctuation. For example, some people use the full stop to show a formal and sincere attitude, but I only use it to suggest reserved anger and I usually get rather tense when seeing this mark in a message.
