It is widely believed that teachers play an indispensable role in education, as all the instructions students receive are from teachers. Therefore, the quality of teachers may well determine the result of education. But people tend to have different ideas about how to improve the quality of teachers. Some may argue that providing online materials for teachers to allow them to study at their own pace and in their own spare time is a good idea. However, from my perspective, it is more beneficial to choose and send a group of good teachers to receive training first and then train others.

To begin with, receiving training in person can ensure the quality of training. When all the learning is carried out online, people may not be able to fully grasp the skills and knowledge, since when they have questions, they don’t have anyone to turn to for help. Even though they may hold discussions with some teachers, it is not sure that they can get the answers, because nobody has received instructions from somebody who knows the skills and knowledge better. On the contrary, when a group of good teachers are sent out to receive training from some good instructors, they could surely receive proper answers from their instructors, which can ensure that they have a good understanding of the things they are learning. Similarly, after returning to school, they could be in charge of offering answers to other teachers’ questions. In this case, the quality of the training could be better secured.
