Keeping students engaged in classes can be the most difficult task for teachers. If students are not paying attention, their minds will be wandering and they will absorb nothing from the lecture given by teachers. Here are three strategies that teachers can choose to make their students interested and engaged. One suggestion is to provide more opportunities of group discussion, and the other is to explain to students how the knowledge they learn is related to the real world. However, I hold the idea that using more high-tech method will be more efficient than the former two suggestions.

First, most of the knowledge in high school textbook is abstract and hard for teenagers to understand, such as the functions and formulae of math, physics and chemistry. Allowing group discussion will not make them easier to comprehend, so students are likely to talk about things not related with the questions given to them. They may even start to talk about jokes and gossip to get away from the boredom and frustration. However, if teachers employ the help from new technology, they can visualize abstract concepts, making such academic knowledge easier to absorb and remember. Besides, teachers can show the knowledge in a more colorful way that facilitates memorizing. They will not only attract the attention of students but also help them understand the knowledge better. In addition, teachers will have more interact with students rather than taking things as they come.
