托福独立写作范文:
It is universally acknowledged that the development of education to a large extent defines the future of a country. Education experts and teachers try various approaches to guarantee and improve education quality. As modern society puts much emphasis on cooperation, many teachers regard group work as the most effective way of teaching for young children aging from 5 to 11. Actually, although to study in groups brings many benefits, teachers should not overlook its disadvantages and the advantages of individual work.
Admittedly, while studying in groups, young children learn to communicate and cooperate effectively through sharing thoughts. The process of brainstorms encourages all children to participate actively and contribute their ideas, which helps them to think from different perspectives and learn to listen. Facing various ideas presented by others, children will realize sometimes an effective teamwork needs members to accept others’opinions. For example, while designing the poster together, children holding different opinions of painting cute cartoon characters or beautiful scenery learn to compromise through discussion.
However, group work is not always the best choice. Children aging from 5 to 11 usually lack the ability of time management and self-control. As a result, they may be trapped into endless discussion or even argument, refusing to agree with each other. So, the prolonged group study may turn out to be a waste of time. Even worse, without teachers’ strict supervision or an effective leader’s control, it is highly possible that young children begin to chat and get out of the track after a short time discussion of the topic. When one boy starts the topic of cartoon movie he watched yesterday, the whole team may be soon distracted.

托福独立写作范文二:
Educators and researchers have never stopped the examination of the importance and relevance of collaborative learning that are encouraged by middle schools. When compared with studying alone, I, personally, believe that it is far more beneficial to students when working in groups for the following reasons.
First off, working in a group can be very conducive for students since they can help students to study more effectively and thus tackle real-world issues. A recent study conducted by University of Minnesota backed up the claim that study teams, collaborative learning and group projects are far more effective in helping students to develop useful skills than traditional teacher-led teaching approach. In fact, when learning in groups, students have to do some research about the topic they are expected to discuss beforehand, which helps them to clear up some misunderstandings and boast their enthusiasm in academic exploration. Clearly, working in a group can help students to retain information for a much longer time and have a much deeper understanding of some concepts and ideas. Consequently, if teachers categorize students and organize them in small study groups, chances are that they would solve complex issues together, like researching the history of the city, examining the water quality of the local town, so on and so forth. Students can develop critical thinking skills as well as learn to collect and analyze information from multiple sources.
