When it comes to choosing travel destinations, people are inclined to think twice. Some people may subconsciously surf the Internet for comments and advice, while others prefer to ask their friends who have been there before. As for me, I’d like to say that friends’ advice plays a more important role in helping me make the final decision. This opinion will be well-supported in the following paragraphs.
To begin with, friends who have been there could provide us with more valuable and detailed information about the destinations. On no account could they give us useful information about a scenic spot without the experience of visiting there. Therefore, they must have a deep understanding of the place in terms of the traffic, food and accommodation. In this sense, their advice is more worth considering and could be more specific. Taking myself as an example, I had a wonderful time in the ancient town of Fenghuang in Hunan province last year. With the limited budget, I still enjoyed the beautiful scene and delicious food, and stayed in a cozy inn with a five-star hotel service, which is all attributed to the recommendations from my friend Eva, who has already been there many times.
In addition, advice given by our friends are sincerer and more trustworthy. When giving us information about a travel destination, our friends tend to share with us their true feelings. In contrast, information on the internet are more likely to misguide readers. In order to boost tourism industry, some fake news or deliberately beautified pictures are posted online to attract tourists, which makes it very hard for travelers to distinguish between the true and false. For instance, on one occasion I saw many attractive photos of a small town in southwest China, and I hopped on a train to there. However, it disappointed me, for the real scene looked totally different from what’s on the internet. However, if I had resorted to a friend who has been there, he would have told me the truth and prevented me from going there.

托福写作范文二:
When people cannot choose between two travel destinations (旅游目的地), many of them subconsciously (潜意识地) hop on the Internet for comments and advice. The Internet may offer so many ideas or too many sometimes, and none of those ideas could compare with advice from friends who have been to both places.
First, there is no denying that travel logs or memories (游记) on the Internet are numerous, catering for people’s need for abundant information for some sense of security, and if these opinions are on different sides, a travel planner feels safer, most likely because they wouldbe otherwise skeptical about (对...怀疑) the authenticity (真实性,可靠性) of information. However, can the diversity be counterproductive? Supposedly, the various opinions show a full picture of the destinations, informing a viewer of both advantages and disadvantages; they however often cause chaos. When the viewer is trapped in the praise and criticism, hardly can he or she make the right decision or even a final decision. This is where the traveler should turn to a friend who has been to the two places. As a matter of fact (其实;实际上), the traveler should turn to the friend in the first place. Although the friend could offer only one idea, which seems too few, the idea is at least consistent, simplifying the decision-making.
