I love getting my hands on new technology devices such as smartphones, tablets, and video game consoles. However, I am just a poor student with not much extra spending money. People in my situation have but one choice when it comes to purchasing new tech toys: wait. However, there are a few benefits to having to wait to buy these highly desired gadgets. Specifically, safety and waiting until the bugs are worked out.

When new tech products are ready for the public to purchase, people wait in lines to try and get their hands on them. I am reminded of the time Apple was releasing a new iPhone in Beijing. People waited in line and even arrived the previous day to line up overnight. When morning arrived and the store doors opened people were so excited and eager to get an iPhone that they were practically fighting each other for the last one. In fact, there was so much pushing that one of the glass doors broke and a security guard was injured. For me, avoiding the frenzy that new tech products can elicit is worth the wait. I would much rather wait a few months for the hype to die down and order online, from the safety of my dorm room, rather than try and struggle to purchase one on the product launch day.

Another reason that I prefer waiting to buy technological devices is that new devices often have a lot of bugs. These bugs and defects could be related to software or hardware and sometimes they pose security threats to personal data. Another iPhone related example was when the iPhone 4 was released. After hundreds, maybe even thousands, of people bought the iPhone it was discovered the 。。。。。。。。。。。此处省略部分范文!

Technology is advancing so rapidly in the past decades that new and amazing electronics are replaced by even newer and more advanced devices within the blink of an eye. It seems that everybody is always waiting in lines to buy the latest iPhone or Play Station. I myself am a technophile and invariably being attracted to these marvelous high-tech objects, but when comes to the actually purchasing, I prefer to think twice.

To say it simply, not that I love all these new gadgets less, but that I love the practicality more. The ever-changing nature of science always reminds me that it is improbable to keep up with the trend of technology. Also in my studies, I typically don't need to rely on the latest technology to finish my assignments. Sometimes I use electronic databases to do research, but I usually can find what I'm looking for in the school library. I also have no use for the latest smartphone. I hardly use all the features on my normal phone, so I can imagine having all of those fancy applications would just be a waste of battery.
