托福独立写作范文一:

Pets are animals that afford people who keep them pleasure but at the same time rely on their owners for food and shelter. So the argument has been made that raising a pet is a luxury and money spent on pets could be better used for other aspects. However I believe that it is worth spending money on pets due to the fact that emotional gratification pet owners receive from their pets outweighs what spending on other things may bring.

Pets can drive off the loneliness of the old people and comfort them at times of sorrow. We humans are social creatures and naturally crave companionship, not to mention the old people who live alone. When human company is impossible, pets can substitute for the absence of those who are at a distance or have passed away. Pets can bring their masters comfort and pleasure and make them feel wanted. According to a medical research conducted by local health organization, people over 60 who raise a cat or a dog are less likely to suffer depressed disease than those who enjoy pet-free lives. What’s more, the research also shows that compared to others, the old pet owners go to see a doctor less frequently since they have to walk the pets regularly, which is beneficial to their physical fitness.

托福独立写作范文二:

It has been publically recognized that pet has increasingly became one of the most essential parts of modern people’s life. Moreover, the relationship between human and domestic animals has its long history which could trace back to the prehistory period. Although populace’s lifestyle has changed drastically in the recent centuries, the function of domestic animals or pets has not changed much, in which, they are human’s friends and companion for all the time. With all aspects are carefully considered, I personally consent to the perspective that there are more and more people are spending money on their pet, even though there can be other good ways to spend money. My thesis could be circumstantiated by the following two reasons. First, spending money on pets could provide more chances to people. Second, spending money on pets could make their master healthier.

First of all, spending money on pets could offer more opportunities to other people. strangely but interestingly, the mass are tends to forget that the pets industry is also conducted by people, which means, the money which spend on pets would certainly current to people who work in this industry, by doing which, these investments on pets could create more opportunities to other people. For example, my father’s friend Mr. Wang established a pet funeral hall few years ago. With the increasing recognition of the notion that pets are also family members, more and more people are willing to spend couple thousand dollars to form a funeral for their dead pets. As a result, Mr. Wang’s little company expands and hires more employees, which number increase from less than ten people to fifty people in this year. Mr. Wang’s example is not exceptional, for a statistical research which implemented by a pets industry magazine indicates that in the last three years, in China, the investment which people spend on their pets has improved 550 percent, which has created 1.5 million job position to the mass. Although this study is not conducted by an institute, it is still not hard to claim that more people are benefiting from the expanding pet industry. Thus, spending money on pet could offer more opportunities to the public.

托福独立写作范文三:

With the rise of the middle class, more and more people spend money on things that are not essential to their daily needs. As the average wealth of households has increased, many trends have emerged. One trend that has appeared recently in my neighborhood is the increase in the amount of money people spend on their pets, and for me this is definitely the truth.

The reason why people spend too much money on their pets is because they believe their pets to be more than just animals. They assign to them many human characteristics. This does not mean that I do not like pets. I love pets. My father is a biologists and growing up our house was always filled with lots of strange and unique pets. Pets play a very important role in families and I think we should take care of animals. I love volunteering for the local animal shelter and helping find homes for stray pets. I like taking care of animals and I will be the first to help an animal in need. I do not, however, believe that we should treat pets like humans.

My neighbors, on the other hand, have a different opinion. They love their dogs, but I think they are a rather extreme when it comes to taking care of their dogs. For example, their dogs have their own feather beds that cost 300 dollars each. I think that’s how much all of the furniture in my bedroom costs! My neighbors claim that their dogs have back problems and that the dogs need these beds. I am not sure the dogs realize this, because last time I visited my neighbors I saw that the dogs had ripped a bunch of holes in these beds. Maybe humans think these dog beds are more comfortable, but I highly doubt that dogs know the difference between a several hundred dollar mattress and a ten dollar mattress. Buying these kinds of luxury items for pets is very silly.
