范文一：

With the coming of the new millennium, with the booming of internet, with the acceleration of globalization, people have realized that this era varies radically. What’s the difference between young people in this era and young people in the past? Comparing to the last generation, young people today have more chances and resources, which, in turn, arouses their concerns to the society. So there will be more possibilities that contemporary generation contribute more time and labor to the improvement of the world.

First, let’s consider on capability. It’s obvious that young people today develop more skills on computer and internet. Internet has become their first choice for solving problems or promoting interesting events. They spend a lot of time surfing websites and logging in social nets, and the world is unconsciously changed in this way. Internationalization is a good example, in which, people, especially in metropolis all over the world, know the same hot events, talk the same topics, focus on the same concerns and accept the same opinions. Some people may have a debate on consequences coming with internationalization, but most people admit that civilization is improving globally. All these changes should be contributed to people who expose news, advocate ideas and exchange opinions on internet. It’s just because of their time that our world is improving.

In the past young people didn’t care about improving the world, so they never spent time improving it. That is why it is getting worse and worse. Young people today, however, care about the world very much so they are willing to invest their time in order to improve it. And the reason young people nowadays care about the world is because they still have to live in it for a long time and because they are more enlightened.

In the past young people did not spend time improving the world, so they must not have cared about it. I don’t know why they didn’t care about it because I am young and care a lot about the world. But I know they didn’t invest their time to improve the world because there are so many problems now. If young people in the past had made the effort to improve the world, there wouldn’t be so many problems. For example, the world is now facing a serious environmental problem. If young people in the past had recycled and done other things for the environment we wouldn’t have this big problem now. It seems those young people were too busy spending time on themselves.
