Students usually make friends through various ways, such as joining a sports team, participating in community activities or travelling. Some genuine friendship is formed in the interaction. But given the best approach to making friends, participating in community activities outshines the other two.

Sports can guarantee that friends share a common hobby, some people might argue, but that is not all about friendship. Admittedly, many people get to know each other due to their similar interest. However, the further development of the relationship is based on many other aspects including personal characters, capabilities and so forth, which sports cannot tell.Moreover, their circle of friends will be narrowed if students give too much weight to sports when selecting friends. For instance, a boy in a basketball team can hardly find a friend who prefers soccer or at least who is of the opposite sex, while it is possible for him to meet different people in community activities.

Friendship is one of the greatest things in life. Good friends bring a special meaning to us. That’s why people constantly look to make new friends. Different people find their friends from different activities and situations such as traveling, taking part in community activities. For me, the best way cultivate friendship is joining a sport team. My writing will thoroughly look into some typical reasons for this.

First and foremost, what I put as my priority is same interest. The fact is that people joining a sport team always have something they are both passionate. They do not need to worry about lack of topics to talk. The games they are involved will bring endless discussions. For instance, my younger brother is an introvert. When he was in high school, he did not form friend with anyone. He often kept quite and felt difficult to communicate with people. However, when he entered university, he joined the football club. One day, I was so surprised he brought home a group of friends in his club. They were very active and kept talking about the last football match they saw in television. My brother was so passionate when he talked about football, the famous soccer he admires, which team would get the champion. Without doubt, sports are likely to make people close together and shorten all the distance between them.

In the second place, time members in a team spend with each other is undoubtedly of paramount importance. It cannot be denied that there are many activities in a sport team that members do together. These activities can be practicing, taking part in competitions, shopping to buy sport facilities, cleaning courts… For example, last semester, I joined badminton club in my university to prepare for the university badminton tournament. I had a lot of activities with the members in our club. We practiced two hours every day for a month before the competition. After practicing hours, we went to the cafeteria in campus to have drinks and chatting. There were a lot of funs. I had many good memories with people in this club. As a result, I got into company with all participants of the club. With no doubt, by joining a sport team or club, people stand a golden chance to have great time with friends.

Since the world has been rapidly changing with the modern life becoming increasingly complicated,there has been a heated controversy in our society about whether jointing a sports team or participate in community activities or traveling is the best for a student to make new friends.Some people put forward the idea that participating in some community activities would bring about greater benefits.In my perspective,i believe that it would be sensible to join a sports team in order to expand students' social circle.

To begin with,unlike participating in community activities,students are able to find friend who have the same hobby with them.People,with various ages,take part in community can have very different interest and they are mostly different types of people so that they won't have a lot of common topics to discuss.However,when it comes to sports team,students can have an easier access to find peers with same hobbies and same determination,which absolutely can help them make friends with each other.In the consequence that students discover common prevalent topics to talk about,they will have an more effective interpersonal communication.

Students would share their feels and works with their friends and affected by their behavior. Because of this, finding new friend plays an essential role in the students’ life. Everyone has her/his criteria in finding a friend. I am of the opinion that makes a new friend in the traveling is the best way. There are main reasons why I hold this point of view: Travel magnifies people’s behavior and enable us to realize the best friend. Beside of this, gives more opportunities to know the people and select best of them.

The first point worth mentioning would be that trip expose people to various positions. In other words, students able to consider their friends’ reactions in different situations especially in facing hardships. It is important because people blurt out their genuine behavior in encounter adversity. Some people give up their friends in the hard times and some of them help others. As a result, students get a better understanding of others’ actions in the journey. A prime example from my own experience may shed some light on this point. 10 years ago, I went to the travel with other students from the school. We were unskilled and that was our first individually trip. One of the students has helped others as she could as, she has been kind with people in overtimes and whole the travel. Having a friendly manner has been my vital standard in becoming a friend with someone. Therefore, I started to conversation with that girl, I selected her as my friend, and now we are friend with together until today.
