2020年9月26日托福独立口语范文：Some people think students should learn mathematics when they study in college, while others think only those who need it in the future should learn mathematics in colleges. Which one do you prefer and why?
I think students should be allowed to choose whether they’ll learn math in college. It is true that mathematical skills are practical, but they’re not a must for everyone. For example, I’m interested in language and wanna be an interpreter in the future. If my university requires that I do well in math, I may have difficulty graduating from school, let alone starting a satisfying career. Moreover, it’s hard to say for sure if we’ll need math in the future, I mean, plan changes all the time and we could start working on it when necessary. By that time, we must have good reasons for this rather than simply getting a good grade, and therefore, will have stronger motivation to study hard.
